Summer Camp

The Mystic Highland Academic Center is offering summer camps for the 2005 summer season.  We will be offering four camps during the months of June and July in Astronomy, Earth Science, Zoology, and Conservation. Enroll your student in a summer camp whose goal is to encourage your child to learn.  We offer hands-on activities, field trips, and events in a safe environment.

Mystic Highland Academic Center is offering four science camps.   Each camp is two weeks in length and is divided into two age groups.   Grades 4-5 will meet each day from 10am-noon and Grades 6-8 will meet from 2pm-4pm.

Saturn

Camp 1 (June 6-June 17) ASTRONOMY:  Explore planet Earth and beyond!  Get inside black holes, visit the Milky Way and travel farther into the universe than you have ever dreamed.  We will have a one night constellation/moon watch and our field trip will be to the St. Louis Planetarium.

Earth

Camp 2 (June 20-July 1) EARTH SCIENCE:  Ever wondered what makes the Earth shake?  Fascinated by molten lava?   Join us as we journey back in time to find fossils, go into a volcano, identify rocks and solve the mysteries deep inside the Earth's core.

Camp 3 (July 5-July 15) CRITTER CAMP:  Come and enjoy and animal experience!  We will delve into all things furry as we learn about animals from every continent on Earth.   Our big activity will be to design our own zoo with a field trip to the Dickerson Park Zoo to cap off the camp.  Be prepared to 'walk with the animals'!

Camp 4 (July 18-July 29) EARTH-WISE:  How can we help conserve the earth?  Ever wonder how the recycling gets recycled?  Learn about all types of conservation from marine to chemical and get ready to jump into the inner workings of saving our Earth!

Prices for each camp are $200.00 per child.  There may be additional costs for field trips or off-site activities.  Parents need to assure their child will have a way to get to events.  Enroll now before the camps fill up.  For more information, contact us.
